Does Decision Pace support a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy?

Yes. Decision Pace is clientless. All you need is access to the Internet.

Does Decision Pace address many of the issues facing developers and those in the business intelligence space?

Yes. We help you overcome many challenges you face today, including:

  • Sifting through overwhelming stacks of reports that aren’t useful
  • Proprietary BI software limitations
  • Initial building of BI data, ETL programs and reports – then more updates and significant recurring IT effort
  • The struggle to throw more programming at more custom products/add-ons
  • Effort to create targeted data sets to support chart creation
  • Real-time data inclusion
  • Query performance optimization
  • Mobile delivery requirements
Does Decision Pace provide the ability to create highly formatted, print-ready and interactive reports, with or without parameters?

Yes. Decision Pace is utilized to generate sophisticated web-based data visualizations. The visualizations can be tabular or graphical and all can be printed, formatted and interacted with. It isn’t a replacement for traditional print reporting with tools like Crystal Reports, MS Access, etc., but can provide an effective web delivery mechanism. Aggregation (total or subtotaling) of data can be accomplished with drill-down functionality.

How can Decision Pace interact with our dashboards?

Decision Pace produced web visualizations can be embedded in any web page or dashboard creation tool, such as Bootstrap or MS SharePoint. It is a completely flexible development platform, so any chart template or dashboard application can be integrated into the Decision Pace interface and added to the library-delivered templates.

Can I perform ad hoc reports/queries – where I can ask my own questions of the data, without relying on IT to create a report?

Yes. Decision Pace’s dynamic semantic layer is used on demand to connect to any data source, including relational databases, multi-dimensional databases, stored procedures and APIs. It then enables users to dimension and measure data in any fashion desired, as needed, in seconds. The tool generates optimized query definitions based on how the user has organized, combined and filtered data into logical data sets by selecting from the pool of content in the semantic layer. Decision Pace is a virtual environment and leverages existing stored data without the need to load and store it redundantly.

Can Decision Pace integrate with Microsoft Office (Excel), which acts as my reporting and/or analytics client?

Yes. Any query produced in Decision Pace can return the data in the form of a data service, which in turn can be published to Excel. Excel data can also be imported into Decision Pace so it can be combined with other data sources and sourced as part of enterprise scalable visualization applications. Any web visualization can also have its underlying data published to Excel. Visualizations can also be rendered as MS SharePoint web parts, which is part of Microsoft’s BI strategy.

Will Decision Pace enable my organization to develop and deliver content to mobile devices in a publishing and/or interactive mode – and can it take advantage of mobile devices' native capabilities, such as touchscreen, camera, location awareness and natural-language query?

Yes. Every visualization and dashboard produced in Decision Pace is HTML5 and responsive, meaning it automatically adjusts to the viewing screen. All content is immediately accessible from any device’s browser.

Does Decision Pace provide interactive visualization, enabling the direct exploration of data via the manipulation of chart images, with the color, brightness, size, shape and motion of visual objects representing aspects of the dataset being analyzed?

Yes. Decision Pace can include any chart template in its builder user interface. There are thousands of free, open source chart templates available with sites such as D3. Decision Pace also includes a custom HTML template builder utility, which expands the possibilities even more. Functionality for advanced hovers and drill-ins are standard and extend what is possible with standard charts.

Does Decision Pace allow search-based data discovery, applying a search index to structured and unstructured data sources, mapping them into a classification structure of dimensions and measures that users can easily navigate and explore using a search interface?

Yes. Decision Pace includes a classification structure for configured data sources. It is possible to search all elements in the structure, as well as track the usage of source data in the semantic layer, dimensions, data sets and visualizations. In addition, all content contained within Decision Pace-produced visualizations is searchable, sortable and can be drilled into or “hovered”.

Does Decision Pace provide geospatial and location intelligence, delivering specialized analytics and visualizations that provide geographic, spatial and time context?

Yes. Geospatial visualizations, or any visualization type for that matter, can be added to the Decision Pace template library. Decision Pace’s data organization workflow is leveraged to automate the creation of data set layouts for any chart. This is usually the challenging part of producing advanced charts. In most cases, the underlying data needed for the chart template is not available in a stored form with the BI solution. This requires additional IT effort to update the BI data structure and load programs to store the data. Decision Pace automates and expedites this process.

Can Decision Pace perform online analytical processing (OLAP), enabling users to analyze data with fast query and calculation performance?

Yes. Decision Pace-produced visualizations and dashboards deliver a unique OLAP (slice and dice) experience for user navigation, above and beyond what traditional multi-dimensional database applications provide. Decision Pace visualizations can be set up to include multiple hover-overs and drill-ins (drill-up, drill-over or drill-down to any level) to any other visualization, web page or dashboard. This approach also enables additional BI content and KPIs to be presented as part of the navigation, not just the same content displayed at a more detailed level.

Can Decision Pace perform BI infrastructure and administration, enabling all tools in the platform to use the same security, metadata, administration, object model and query engine, and scheduling and distribution engine?

Yes. All Decision Pace application functionality incorporates a “Google App” style. This provides a common look and feel and the sharing of a common security model. For multi-tenancy, the same Decision Pace instance would be utilized. Alternatively, another instance can be quickly set up if the tenants don’t share common content.

Can Decision Pace handle metadata management with tools for enabling users to leverage the same systems-of-record semantic model and metadata?

Yes. Decision Pace utilizes metadata concepts throughout the application, including a central glossary (semantic layer) for the system of record. Each glossary element can have many contextual data sources (i.e. client, product manufacturer, dealer, sales rep) and dimensions/measures (Rolling Averages, To Dates, Series, Point in Time).

Can Decision Pace provide business user data mashup and modeling? Can it use code-free, 'drag and drop,' user-driven data combinations of different sources and the creation of analytic models, such as user-defined measures, sets, groups and hierarchies?

Yes. Business users can create advanced analytics and visualizations using Decision Pace’s builder workflow tool and then publish the generated web services (URLs) to any mashup or dashboard product. They can also be embedded in any web page or portal, and even sent as a hyperlink in an email message. The Decision Pace code generator produces optimized code for federating data from disparate sources.

Does Decision Pace utilize development tools, whereby the platform provides a set of programmatic and visual tools and a development workbench for building reports, dashboards, queries and analysis?

Yes. Decision Pace is fundamentally a BI development platform for connecting to any data source. It defines any dimension or measure, virtually, on the fly. It rapidly generates user-defined data analytics or visualizations utilizing any HTML presentation style or javascript chart template. Without programming or IT, the business user generates the optimized code and web service for each visualization. These HTML5 web services can be published to any web page, dashboard or email and are immediately accessible from any device.

Can Decision Pace utilize embeddable analytics-using tools, including a software developer's kit with APIs for creating and modifying analytic content, visualizations and applications, embedding them into a business process, and/or an application or portal?

Yes. Decision Pace creates a web service URL for all output, which can be embedded in virtually anything. The user simply copies the encrypted URL for the visualization and pastes it into the desired location on the web page, utilizing the web editing tools in place (ex. Bootstrap, SharePoint, etc.). Changes to content can be made quickly utilizing the Decision Pace builder and are reflected instantly once republished.
